Terry’s Question – What’s the most significant thing you have learned about yourself?

I take naturally to bells and pick up new techniques quickly, but this means I get bored even quicker. I quickly progressed to sight reading my second year but I realized I have to find good coping mechanisms for myself to keep finding joy in ringing bells, which translates to the rest of my life. Because I think and operate differently, I have to be cognizant of how to accommodate myself and not burden others with my problems.

Kelly’s Question – What will be the thing you will miss the most?

Performing. Joining this choir was to fill the hole that dancing left, and I'll miss that "spotlight" feeling and high-pressure environment. Plus, learning small silly things about the ringers around me is always a fun bonus!

Kelly Bonus Question – What experience or moment has made you most proud of yourself?

Karen’s Question – What’s your favorite tour memory?

The first time I fell for a Terry Fact my first year! We were at Oak Alley Plantation- who knew he grew up there!

Lace’s Question – What’s Bells lesson do you think you will take with you in life?

CP's Goldfish mentality! When you make a mistake, you have to focus on moving forward and learning from it. Don't get caught up on the "I should've..." talk.

CP’s Question – What’s your favorite activity you have done on tour?

Going to Dollywood and touring Malmark are definitely tied for first!

Molly’s Question – If you could give one piece of advice to a younger ringer what would it be?

Have patience with those around you and try to the positives of your personal trials. Once you come out on the other side, your relationships with those around you and your faith in yourself will be stronger.

Liz’s Question – Of all the places you have visited on tour where would you like to go back to the most?

I personally loved Boston the most and could totally see myself living there. It's the perfect mix of city and history, and the flora there was so beautiful. However, I really want to visit the Mall of America again! It was so much fun and I'd love to go back once I have even more disposable income.

Brett’s Question – How have you helped the less experienced ringers become a better ringer?

I strongly believe in focusing on the little things to support a better foundation. Back when I played surrounded by newer ringers, I focused on ringing technique. Appropriate cut offs, that perfect flick of the wrist, and having those final notes follow the director's hands. Now that I'm a 4th year, a lead ringer, and surrounded with 7 first years, I've focused on interpersonal skills, that patience and understanding, and always moving and keeping busy.

Terry’s Question – What have you learned about taking care of yourself?

I have learned that sometimes the best thing to do for yourself is to take a break, even when you feel guilty for not helping enough

Kelly’s Question – What would you say is the easiest and hardest part about being a Wesley Bell Ringer

The easiest part about being a Wesley is having all the support from everyone as you’re learning new things. Everyone is really supportive and always helps each other out. The hardest part of being a Wesley is being on tour with everyone for 2 weeks. By the end, everyone is so sick of each other.

Karen’s Question – What would you go back and tell yourself as a 1st year have you learned anything that would be helpful?

I would tell myself it’s ok to ask for help. You’re not going to know it all (probably ever) and the best thing you can do is keep good relationships with the people around you so that you can get the help you need when you need it.

Lace’s Question – How is 2nd year different than 1st year?

Second year for me has been different for me in that I feel a lot more confident in what I am doing I’m more comfortable asking for help and just talking to people in general.

CP’s Question – What’s the hardest thing on Tour that you have done?

The hardest thing on tour for me this year was learning to let things go and not hold grudges against people, as well as trying to being kind to everyone.

Molly’s Question – What piece of experience last year has been most important/helpful to you this year?

Not specifically from last year but the experiences that have helped me the most are when the directors give everyone an encouraging tal, and remind us that we al love each other and have each other’s backs. These are always very reassuring to me and make me feel like it’s okay to make mistakes.

Liz’s Question – What are you looking forward to this tour most?

I am really looking forward to talking to all the ringers even more and becoming better friends with them. I am also really looking forward trying a whole bunch of food in New York, as well as all the other places we are going.

Brett’s Question – Why did you come back for a second year?

Kelly’s Question – What would you say is the easiest and hardest part about being a Wesley Bell Ringer

I think the easiest part of being a Wesley Bell Ringer is spending time with the other ringers and just getting to talk to them. The hardest part is probably also the social part because on tour sometimes we get tired and don’t fully want to be around people.

Karen’s Question – What would you go back and tell yourself as a 1st year have you learned anything that would be helpful?

I would tell myself to be more open and try to talk to people. I had a hard time getting out of my shell, but I now know just how much the choir cares.

Lace’s Question – How is 2nd year different than 1st year?

There is a lot less uncertainty with not knowing what was going on most the time last year and not knowing anyone last year there was a lot of unknowns, and it is nice to know how everything works.

CP’s Question – What’s the hardest thing on Tour that you have done?

The hardest thing I have done on tour is allowing myself to take breaks. Especially with my knee I have pushed myself a lot and ow am trying to take better care of myself.

Molly’s Question – What piece of experience last year has been most important/helpful to you this year?

Last year me and Ani had a talk, and she brought up that everyone is this group cares about each other and you can lean on them and to help each other and I think that really made a difference or me this year and has helped me be more open and at home in Bells.

Day 16 - June 21 - Salt Lake City - HOMECOMING CONCERT

Today is the last day of Tour we had a wonderful nights sleep at our host homes and Thanks to Lucy Anderson who reserved Evergreen Park for us for the day we had a wonderful place to hang out and base our day out of.

We met at 9:45 at Evergreen Park and hung out until 10:30 to go to Smash it Rage Rooms for our Activity.

We came back to the Park and had a great lunch provided by Josh one of our Dads - We had smoked tri-tip, smoked meatloaf, funeral potato's, roasted potato's, roasted veggies and asiago bread. Dave our bus driver came to hang out and have lunch with us also before we said goodbye and he headed back to Florida.

Then it was time to sign our tour manuals and vote for the Marsha Vilven Award.

CP and Molly gave some back ground and then all Ringers found a quiet place to reflect on the year and decided who they should vote for.

We came back together and started signing Tour Manuals, anyone who has done this in the past knows this is a lengthy process but fun to talk about and write fun things and memories of the tour and year.

Then we headed to the Church to meet our bus and start to unpack and clean the bus to set up for our Home Concert. We had one more devotional by Terry and handed out our Juneteenth Pins.

We then got ready to have dinner with our families, every ringer let their parents know what they missed food wise during tour and then all the parents bring food and we have a HUGE potluck dinner. Its so fun to see how excited everyone is to reunited.

We filled out belly's and our souls and then got ready to have our final concert for our home Congregation and Families. We played and amazing concert. Honor Bells were handed out, Marsha Vilven award was announced, and we ended our tour on a high note!

Honor Bells were handed out to
Jonas Nelson, Madi Oaks, Sophi Arlen, Marysia McGill, and Isa Barker.

The Marsha Vilven Award went to
Sophi Arlen

We sang Happy Birthday to Jonas and Maggie and then we took our final pictures and headed home. Ready for a break but looking forward to next year.

Have a happy Summer and Thank You everyone for their support and working so hard. Until next year!
