~ 1st YEAR RINGER SPOTLIGHT ~

Terry’s Question – Is all the work proving to be worth it?

Yes, all the work is very much worth it for all the exciting activities we get to do and the places we get to see.

Kelly’s Question – How will you help new Ringers be incorporated into the group and make them feel welcome?

I want to be as accepting as possible, giving constructive criticism and showing them the ropes while showing them how to make their own friends as well.

Karen’s Question – What spot do you want to play next year?

I want to move high up and start feeding into the Tink spots.

Lace’s Question – How will you describe what it means to be in Bells to a friend?

I would explain it as a big group of nerds making excuses to travel with all their friends.

CP’s Question – What is one part of Tour that has been unexpected or that you didn’t plan for?

I didn’t plan for how easily drained my social battery can get during tour.

Molly’s Question – What experience or moment has made you most proud of yourself?

Being able to treat other ringers with kindness and respect.

Liz’s Question – What is your favorite and least favorite part of a typical tour day so far?

My favorite part is my bus naps after getting little sleep and my least favorite part is how often we stop and interrupt my bus naps.

Brett’s Question – Who encouraged you to join bells? And what have you learned about yourself this year with joining the Wesley’s?

My sisters Ani and Sam convinced me to join. I have learned to have a good attitude about everything I can.

I would say yes.

By sitting with them and talking to them when they are alone.

I don’t really know.

Finding a good and nice community with so many friends and kind people.

By learning and getting to understand bells better.

I really enjoy the bus days and sleeping, and I hate waking up early.

Kat asked me to join, and I learned how to improve myself along with my playing.

Talking and helping new ringers is a great way to get to know them.

I don’t know. I really would love to try any spot.

A lot of labor and a lot of fun.

I didn’t expect tour to be so fun. I didn’t know we had such awesome and interesting activities.

Molly’s Question – What experience or moment has made you most proud of yourself?

Probably being able to play a piece confident is a good experience.

Liz’s Question – What is your favorite and least favorite part of a typical tour day so far?

My favorite part is the bus naps, and my least favorite part is setting up and taking down the bells.

My cousin and family. That I enjoy music a lot more than I thought I did.

I wan to be a Veterinarian.

I would be kind and be positive about the things they do right and help them improve.

Probably up to Tinks.

Lace’s Question – How will you describe what it means to be in Bells to a friend?

It’s a handbell choir that I play in that’s based at a Methodist Church. We raise all of our own money so we can go on a summer tour each year. It’s really fun and the people there are really nice.

CP’s Question – What is one part of Tour that has been unexpected or that you didn’t plan for?

The bus window breaking.

Molly’s Question – What experience or moment has made you most proud of yourself?

I only made one mistake in Beach Spring during one of our Performances.

Liz’s Question – What is your favorite and least favorite part of a typical tour day so far?

My favorite part is being in the host homes or church at night and hanging out with the other ringers. My least favorite part is packing up/setting up.

Brett’s Question – Who encouraged you to join bells? And what have you learned about yourself this year by joining the Wesley’s?

It was Daphne and my parents. I’ve learned that I am good at getting people to come out of their shells apparently.

I would probably talk to the new ringers and say that it gets a lot harder.

I would probably want to do percussion or the next spot down.

A group of who play handbells and go around the country.

Having to stay up so late.

Probably when I finally was able to start playing Swan

My favorite part is probably the time on the bus, and my least favorite part is setting up and taking down.

I think all of the work has mostly been worth it and I have really enjoyed being apart of this group.

I would try to talk to them as much as possible.

I would want to go to Canada but I know that 's not possible.

Mean not being late to practice

Losing my headphones.

Finally, being able to figure out how to play a song successfully.

Least Favorite is waking up in the morning. Most favorite is talking to other Ringers.

My mom encouraged me to join bells I’ve learned much more about music after joining.

Be kind to them. Try to socialize with them the best I can. If they have questions, I would answer them and I’d just be friendly.

Karen’s Question – What spot do you want to play next year?

The spot I would like to move to next is bass row.

Lace’s Question – How will you describe what it means to be in Bells to a friend?

That I play hand bells, and I play a song with a group of them (and I usually send them what bells I play) and I say it’s just a piano with a lot of people. 

CP’s Question – What is one part of Tour that has been unexpected or that you didn’t plan for?

Spending 100 sum bux in Salem. And realizing how much I missed the beach.

Molly’s Question – What experience or moment has made you most proud of yourself?

Being able to play Beach Spring.

Liz’s Question – What is your favorite and least favorite part of a typical tour day so far?

My least favorite is loading and unloading my favorite part is playing. Playing makes me extremely happy.

Brett’s Question – Who encouraged you to join bells? And what have you learned about yourself this year with joining the Wesley’s?

I joined because of Scarlet, she wanted me to join as soon as I could, so I did. I learned that I am good at playing in groups and I can socialize with everyone.
