Day 14 — Spokane, WA to Pendleton, OR

We were on the road again to head to Pendleton, OR, where we were headed to Walla Walla for a lunch spot. This isn't part of the country we typically drive through and we saw some beautiful sights!

After packing up and hitting the road, we typically have a schedule while on the bus for a driving day. Every morning, Katie opens and runs the bank so the ringers can have money to spend throughout the day. The bank opens with Zooey playing a song or making some animal noises, which we all love! Ella is our banker this year, and she's holding the book of receipts she uses!

We also do a daily devotional, which changes themes each tour. This year, we are going through various parables, which are stories that portray a moral or spiritual lesson. We like to have a thoughtful, centering time in the bus before nap time. Paige did a great job reading our parable this morning!

On this particular morning, we unfortunately had to say see you later to one of our chaperones, Terry Waite. Tour won't be the same without Terry (especially our tablescapes) but hopefully we see him soon!

We had some time to explore Walla Walla and have some lunch (and get records!), which we all enjoyed. We've had a lot of big salads on this tour, and Gina got an especially big and tasty one in Walla Walla!

While in Walla Walla, we made an educational stop to the College Cellars of Walla Walla Community College, where they have an associates of applied science program in Enology and Viticulture. College students learn how to make wine in this program, and we had a lot of fun touring the facilities and learning about wine making! Special thanks to Donna and Michelle for making this happen.

We arrived at First Presbyterian in downtown Pendleton and Pastor Jonathan met us. We have played at this church several times, and love playing for this congregation!

Every concert night, the ringers and directors have to figure out set up in the sanctuary and then have some time to practice. The stained glass at First Presbyterian is so beautiful and the chaperones enjoyed listening to the practice this evening!

Sisters Suzy and Ani talking tink technique.

We got fed a fantastic dinner hosted by the fantastic crew in the kitchen at First Presbyterian! They also sent us with fantastic breakfast burritos in the morning! You all are awesome!

Another wonderful concert!!

Our fearless leader!!

Our assistant directors were excited tonight!

We love playing for family, and we were so happy to see Chloe and Jonas' family come see our concert. Liz Nelson's sister and husband, Angela and Clayton Hudiburg, came all the way from Walla Walla with their daughter Sophie to see the choir!!

Can't believe we have only one more concert until the home concert! Time flies when you're having fun on tour :).
