Newport, OR to Vancouver, WA

Day 7
We are a week into tour! We have had many new experiences, have been very busy, have had great concerts, and the ringers are doing well and really having a fun time with friends! It is fun to see them gelling together so well as a close group of friends. Memories are being made!
Today was our first really rainy day! After we left Newport we went to the beach, visiting Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area. After an orientation by a ranger we to explored the tide pools. We then visited the Tillamook factory, watching cheese being made, eating cheese samples, and some of us tried the ice cream. At lunch Tracey joined us and we ate at the Hawthorne Asylum food courts, a 21-truck pod with diverse ethnic foods. The ringers then got a chance to shop on Hawthorne Street before going to Salmon Creek United Methodist Church in Vancouver, WA for a wonderful concert!

This morning we had breakfast at our hotel and then headed on the road at 7:45. We stopped at the beach to see the tide pools and lighthouse. We got to touch lots of cool sea creatures and instead of sand there were really cool blacks rocks that made a satisfying sound when you walked on them. Afterwards we drove to the Tillamook factory and then went to Portland. We had lunch at food trucks then went to Hawthorne Street to go to all the fun shops. My favorite was the record shop. We got back on the bus and headed to the church for the concert. We played a pretty great concert then we packed up the bus and went to the hotel.
