Day 8
Today we said good-bye to Vancouver and hello to Seattle. One of our first views was the space needle, which was very exciting. We dropped off suitcases in the hotel and we were off on our explorations of the city. At first we visited the Armory which had a variety of places to eat lunch. They were setting up displays so we also got to see some of the local wares after we ate. We then visited the Museum of Pop Culture, which had a little bit of something for everyone. For many, a favorite area was the sound lab where you could learn to play instruments and record your own music. There were displays on guitar music, fantasy, Pearl Jam, Jimmy Hendrix, Nirvana, Sci-Fi, horror and other areas. The ringers had a lot of fun exploring each of the exhibits. We then rode the monorail to the Pikes Place Market. The kids ate dinner and visited the shops. There were also flying fish and a gum wall that we visited. After dinner we returned on the monorail, had dessert, and then returned to the hotel for an evening of rest, swimming, and free time. A few chose to go to a soccer game that is in town, but most were ready to relax after a fun day as tourists!

Today we went to the MoPOP (museum of pop culture). It has some really fun reading segments like the horror and Sci-fi section. I really liked the interactive exhibits though, like the music lab and the inde game segment of the museum. My favorite exhibit was the one dedicated to Ruth E. Carter who designed a lot of costumes for movies like Black Panther. Her fashion creations were awe-inspiring and I loved each one. My favorites were the Zoot Suits which I honestly am considering getting. After that we went to Pikes Place where we walked around and shopped. I got another bowl of clam chowder and a blue cheese bacon cheese burger. Still don't like blue cheese, though.
