The Wesley Bell Ringer 2022 Summer Tour Day 6
Bandon, OR to Newport, OR
June 16
Day 6
This morning we returned from host home to the church to pack up. Our first stop was to see the Elephant Rock at Bandon Beach. The tide was exceptionally low and so we were able to hike down 120 stairs and across the beach to get very close to it. The ringers enjoyed exploring the sea life in the tide pools in the area. Our next stop was at the Sea Lion Caves where we took an elevator down to see one of the largest natural sea caves where sea lions were currently sheltering. We also hiked to an overlook and saw a lot of them on the rocks below. We got lunch at a grocery store and then we went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Dinner was at Mo's Seafood and Chowder in Newport, Oregon. Tonight is a hotel night, with relaxation, watching tv (sports fans) and swimming! What a fun day with such a great group of ringers!

This morning I woke up in a beautiful host home looking at the trees outside of my window and knew it was going to be a good day. We loaded the bus and spent a good hour or so driving to Florence for lunch and then we stopped at the sea lion caves and watched some of them play king of the hill. We went to the Newport Aquarium where I got to watch them feed the otters (So cool!). We had a delicious dinner at Mo's all together and then finally ended up at the hotel where most of my fellow ringers spent their evening swimming. Such a fantastic day!
