We made it folks, it's our first hotel night! That's right, HOTEL NIGHT! After performing 5 fantastic concerts in a row, the ringers more than deserved a night off.
We were a-runnin' down the road tryna loosen our load along Route 66 from Flagstaff to Albuquerque. Our first stop was in Winslow AZ, where some ringers were found sitting on the corner and others were in a flatbed Ford!
The stop included lots of photos, milk shakes, and crepes all along Route 66! Terry even found some angel wings (though I'm not sure if he's certified to use them yet).
After a thorough Eagles education from Terry, lunch was right after we crossed into New Mexico into Gallup. Typically on tour, we have a lunch stop that will have fast food options and a grocery store so we can eat fruits and vegetables :). In Gallup, we had a stop that included Blake's Lotaburger, which is a local New Mexican fast food joint that serves delicious green chile cheeseburgers and seasoned fries.
So the sound of our own wheels doesn't drive us crazy, when we arrived into Albuquerque, we had a wonderful sightseeing adventure to the ABQ BioPark, which included a botanical garden side and an aquarium side!
The aquarium included an exhibit that was on how does a drop of water travel down the Rio Grande river (very cool) and the botanical garden included cacti, an amazing Mediterranean greenhouse, and a Japanese garden.
After the ABQ BioPark, we had dinner at a very cool indoor food hall called Sawmill Market. They had options like bao buns, fresh pasta, Napoli-style pizza, burgers, New Mexican food, and had a stall for popsicles (also known as paletas)!
We met up with former apPRAISEation member, Laura Lutmer, for dinner as well. Laura rang in the choir for about 3 years and misses seeing Ed! So thankful to have so many familiar faces around the country!!!
After dinner, we arrived at our hotel which had very spacious rooms and most importantly, a pool!
Everyone had a blast in the cool water and were thankful for a night off. Next stop, Cortez CO to play a concert and to see a familiar face!
