Day 2 - Houston to Baton Rouge

The Wesley Bell Ringers 2023 Tour
Houston to Baton Rouge

After breakfast tacos provided by Christ Church, we hit the road. This was a longer road day so we made a brief stop at a grocery store for lunch.

We made a stop on the way to Baton Rouge and went to Avery Island, otherwise known as the home of Tabasco. We took a tour and learned about the history of Tabasco and how it’s made. Ringers liked the giant bottles of Tabasco:

After Tabasco, we continued on our way to Baton Rouge   One thing you don’t see in Utah are swamps.  Terry encourages kids to look up from their phones out the windows.  James took this advice and noticed alligators.  Everyone started looking out the left side of the bus and cheered loudly every time one was spotted!

We arrived at the church in Baton Rouge. One of the members of the church was kind enough to make us a special meal of authentic Louisiana jambalaya.  Delicious!

Once dinner was over it was time for the concert. We had a wonderful audience that gave us not one, not two, but three standing ovations!

Katie's friend, Trisha, came to the concert. It's always nice to see a friend on the road:
