Wesley Bell Ringer 2017 Summer tour - DAY 10 - OFF DAY - Carlsbad Caverns - Monday June 19th, 2017

A DAY OFF FOR THE WESLEY BELL RINGERS!!!!  And a very well deserved day off indeed. 


The bus was packed & The Wesley Bell Ringers left in record time on Monday knowing that a great adventure at the Carlsbad Caverns was ahead of them this day.  This morning before the daily devotional, Ed shared a news story he saw on TV this morning about a man named Arty who killed two people in a local grocery store.  Here is the story:


A man hires a hitman named Arty to murder his wife. He tells him the information about where his wife will be.
Arty asks for $100 to take care of his wife.
 The man says he doesn't have $100.
Arty tells him to give him whatever he has.
 The man has one dollar, so he gives it to him.
Arty finds the man's wife in Vons and starts choking her. He realizes that the cashier is watching, so he chokes him too.
Obviously, the camera has this all on tape. The next day, on the front page, the headline reads:
Arty chokes 2 for a dollar at Vons!


Ed not only had everyone on the bus cracking up once they digested & understood this was a joke, he cracked himself up to the point of tears.  One of those priceless ED moments we all will cherish forever!

It was a long drive to what felt like to the middle of nowhere USA to get to the Carlsbad Caverns today, but it sure was worth it.  Probably one of the most amazing things The Wesley Bell Ringers had ever seen, the group was in high spirits today as we toured the caverns.

Day 10 was a hotel night for The Wesley Bell Ringers.  Tonight in the town of Carlsbad, New Mexico.  The good news - the hotel was easy to find.  The not so good news - there were no restaurants or places to explore anywhere close to the hotel.  Gina with all of her Gina wisdom quickly planned a PIZZA party for the group back at the hotel.  We hit up the local Walmart for snacks & everything we didn't need before checking into the hotel.  Once everyone was able to drop their stuff in rooms, we hit the pool for dinner & a swim. 

La Quinta in Carlsbad New Mexico has FREE Popcorn in the lobby!  Five stars from this group.



Figuring out who is in what room with whom is a job only fit for a lead ringer.

9 pizzas for 15 ringers worked out just fine.  We had to hold Gina back from ordering 13 XL pizzas!
