Day 4 - Portage, Indiana to Kent, Ohio

Today we traveled about from 369 from Portage, IN to Kent, OH where we played our first concert at the United Methodist Church of Kent, which is right across the street from Kent State University. The ringers were excited to get their first concert under their belts. We were treated with incredible hospitality as soon as we arrived!

Mady got the most surprising piece of care mail of the night. It was BIG!

Tonight was the night that Dave Haun arrived! Dave is a WBR alum from the 1960's and played with Terry under the direction of Ed. Dave shows up at a concert every year on his motorcycle from his hometown in Austin, TX. Thanks Dave for coming!

We also celebrated Dave Allison's birthday. Dave brought his WBR tour manual from the 1970's and we have actually read from it on this tour. Some things never change! Tomorrow we head from Kent, Ohio to Chester Springs, PA.

Thoughts from the ringers:

So far tour has been fantastic. Our three hotel nights went very well and everybody has had a fun time. Our first concert showed us we have a lot of room to improve, but we had a great host home. – Andy Adamson

We are off to a good start. Everyone is getting along well, and we are all having a good time. However, I think we are all getting sick of being cramped on the bus. - Matthew Wieben
Tour has been a lot of fun so far. It really started to feel like tour yesterday when we played our first concert. The hotel nights were fun, but it just didn’t seem like tour. I’m excited for all the big cities, but almost more, Maine. - Jake Allison
