The Wesley Bell Ringer 2018 Summer Bell Tour - Day 2- overnight bus drive to Rapid City South Dakota

In order for day 2 to happen, an overnight bus drive was necessary.  It was quite an experience & again tested the "be good" challenge given to The Wesley Bell Ringers.  The choir & chaperone team slept, we think, & woke to a new driver who will be traveling with us for the rest of the trip.  Thinking that we took care of all of the necessary bus drama the day before in Ogden was proven wrong as this new larger bus  did not come equipped with Wi-Fi (not necessary, but super nice to have, especially for tasks such as the blog), ANY electrical outlets (we have a lot of things to charge up) and apparently this new bus did not come with properly working air conditioning.  Fingers crossed that this last issue can be fixed in Rapid City or we might be looking at ANOTHER bus switch somewhere soon along the way!

Despite all of this logistical fun, Day 2 was AWESOME.  The morning was spent at Crazy Horse learning about the efforts put into creating this amazing tribute & the afternoon at Mt Rushmore, equally as amazing.  Driving through the Black Hills of South Dakota, it is no wonder why so many fought to protect this land.

Crazy Horse was CRAZY impressive.  The Wesley Bell Ringers are looking forward to coming back to see more progress in the future
Where do 14 hungry bell ringers eat lunch in the small town of Custer?  The local gas station & convenience store worked for Kelly & Holden.

Maybe if I wear my unicorn ears/horn & think happy thoughts while drinking my coffee on the bus, I will actually feel cooler, thinks Katie.
The First Congregational United Church of Christ hosted The Wesley Bell Ringers for their 1st full concert of this tour.  Though smaller in size, this audience was not small in enthusiasm for this concert as many play in one or two of the Rapid City's hand ball choirs.  For the first time in a few years, The Wesley Bell Ringers played during the Sunday service at First Congregational as well.

BTW - late night info from Lloyd, the bus drive, the AC on the bus was fixed while The Wesley's played!  HURRAH!  VICTORY!  #happytohaveacoolbustomorrow.

This concert goer had high expectations for The Wesley Bell Ringers & was proud to report that they delivered!  The Wesley Bell Ringers left Rapid City with a new FAN.
