The Wesley Bell Ringer 2022 Summer Tour Day 5

McKinleyville, CA to Bandon, OR

June 15, 2022

Day 5

After the concert yesterday we slept in the sanctuary at the church. We bought breakfast at the grocery store in McKinleyville and ate in the parking lot by the largest totem pole in the world. After breakfast we loaded on the bus and headed to Oregon. We stopped at the Lady Bird Johnson Grove and did a short walk through the Redwoods. It was misty and very beautiful.  We ate lunch on the road (fast food and a grocery store) and then we stopped at the Natural Bridges Viewpoint, which gave us an amazing view of the ocean and natural rock formations. A group of ringers did a fast hike down to the bridges because we had to get on our way to prepare for a concert. We then arrived in Bandon, Oregon and played a concert at Bandon First Presbyterian, a cute white church with a blue roof by the coast.  It is a challenging schedule, but we are all well and enjoying the trip!

This morning we woke up in the sanctuary of the church and loaded the bus. We had breakfast (provided by the parents) in the Safeway parking loot, and they also had the "world's largest" totem pole! After breakfast we drove to the redwoods and went on a BEAUTIFUL walk through the trees. They were amazingly mesmerizing as they towered over us. When we got back on the bus, we drove to a gorgeous lookout called natural bridges. Katy gave us 15 minutes to go see the rocks, so we used 5 of them to take pictures. Some of us decided to hike down to the arches over the water but we only had 10 minutes! We sprinted down and had an amazing view but accidenatly forgot that we only had 5 minutes to hike back up! We were just a little late ;) From there we drove to a church in an adorable little town off the coast of Oregon for our concert.

The Wesley Bell Ringer 2022 Summer Tour Day 4

Alameda, CA to McKinleyville, CA

June 14, 2022

Day 4

This morning we ate breakfast at the hotel and then began a driving day. After morning devotion Jenn talked about the meaning of flag day and we all said the pledge and received a flag pin. We ate lunch on the road, and after several hours we arrived at the Redwoods on a curvy road. On the way we found Big Foot at a roadside shop and had fun exploring the many interesting items at the little shop. Later, we took a short break at the Humboldt Redwoods State Park where the ringers had fun checking out the big trees on a short hike. We arrived at our next church, Joyful Healer in McKinleyville, California, to eat a pizza dinner and then perform another wonderful concert.

I woke up in my hotel room with Augs and Conner. I woke up pretty early, specifically an hour before the two of them.  We left to go to this beautiful, redwood forest. Along the way we stopped for lunch, and we also stopped at this little big foot store. I shook hands with a velocirapter, and a big foot, picked up Marysia for a picture (see below), then put her back down, obviously.  We then drove to the church for tonight's concert.  Tyler

The Wesley Bell Ringer 2022 Summer Tour Day 3

San Francisco, CA to Alameda, CA

June 13, 2022

Day 3

Ringer Blog

Today we woke up in our cute hotel in San Francisco and then headed to Alcatraz. It was so cool to see the prison where inmates lived for 29 years, although some of them were kind of creepy. A lot of us also completed the Junior Ranger Booklets. Then we walked over to Pier 39 where we all ate lunch. The clam chowder and baguette that I ate were super good until Augs dropped the baguette on the ground. After lunch we were able to walk around to all the cool shops and see a fire juggler. Now we are on the way to the church we are performing at tonight in Alameda.  Rachel

The Wesley Bell Ringer 2022 Summer Tour Day 2

Sparks, NV to San Francisco, CA

DAY 2

June 12, 2022

We are on our way to San Francisco! This morning we met at the church in Sparks, NV and packed the bells. The ringers already have it down, we were packed quickly and then we were on our way. It was primarily a drive and sight-seeing day, and we were all looking forward to a hotel stay tonight.

After packing up we traveled to San Jose and on the way, we got to see some interesting places. We went to the Jelly Belly factory and then we visited The Winchester House (https://www.winchestermysteryhouse.com/sarahs-story/). The ringers enjoyed exploring the many rooms in this unique building. We then ate dinner in the area and then stayed in a hotel in San Francisco. The ringers enjoyed going up and down the steep hills in San Francisco! The ringers are a great group who are all getting along well together, you have amazing young adults!

Ringer Blog:

Today we had an early start in Sparks, and then we went straight into California. The drive was really pretty along the Targhee River and even though it was raining, it was a nice, easy drive. We made a quick stop at the jelly belly factory and we went to the gift shop which was really fun. Our driver Dave LOVES jelly beans. Then, we went to the Winchester Mystery House today and that was crazy. It was a maze of rooms (160 to be exact), and thousands of windows, it was cool to learn about Sarah Winchester and her home. Then we ate dinner and explored San Jose a little bit before getting on the bus to go to our hotel for the night. Lilly
