The Beginning of Tour

Hello everyone,

We just finished our second concert of the tour. Yesterday was a short day with a long lunch break and a stop at Shoshone Falls outside of Twin Falls. We performed for a large audience in a church with amazing stained glass windows. The concert went very well, however afterward we became aware that one of our ringers was not well.

Barbara and John Jolley accompanied Kristen to the hospital where she was tested for the flu. We do not know what strain of flu she has, so for the time being she has been "quarantined" and the rest of us are taking medication to prevent us from getting it. Kristen is feeling much better tonight. She does not feel feverish and the sore throat and cough seem to be considerably less. Hopefully tomorrow she will be able to rejoin the general population and feel well enough to participate in the day's activities.

I have my own 'room' in the back of the bus in an effort to prevent the rest of the group from getting sick. Although, everyone thoght I was lonely, i was content sleeping throughout the seven and a half hour bus ride. I talked to Becca after lunch and was able to come out here and there. I remenber we were playing Tour Trivia and Forrest won this squeaking squirrel that was used to amuze the bus as well as Terry, and Tracey for quite a while. I am gettign better in a hotel room tonight with Tracey. I am off to bed again, Good night. [Kristin Tatum]

We spent two hours waiting for medication before getting on the road this morning. The day was peaceful. Many of the kids worked on Ed's bus project, which this year is a cross stitch in the shape of a heart with a bell in the center. This is in keeping with our theme from Wesley Bell Ringer Sunday - the Golden Bells. We were a bit pushed for time, but arrived safely at the church in time for a quick rehearsal, a yummy taco soup dinner and then our concert. We performed this evening for a standing room only crowd!

Tomorrow we hope to stop at Crater Lake. We were told this morning there is a posibility the road is not yet open for the season. If not, well I guess we'll have to go to the beach and see the ocean!

Pictures soon!
